Nolan Elementary School Year 2008-2009 Fifth Grade Summer Reading List

You will be responsible for reading two books and completing two activities for fifth grade prior to the first day of school. You are to create a new book cover for your required book (not your choice book). Please do not attach the book cover to your book. Include an attractive cover design, a summary of the book, and information about the author.

Also, make a colorful 11 x 14 poster to advertise your choice book. These activities are due on the first day of school. When your return to school, you may also be required to discuss the books you read. Be prepared!

The required book to be read is Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White.
